We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Havering CAMHS workforce.
NELFT's CAMHS is for anybody aged between 0-18, living in the Havering areas and is free at the point of entry. The service is also for young people with special educational needs (SEN) up to the age of 25.
Driven by THRIVE model of care, the service provides the latest in evidence based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children, young people and their families experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
Any young person experiencing emotional wellbeing or mental health problems, (or any parent, guardian, professional or teacher of a child who is experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties), may access our service., Be part of a CAMH Service, involved in all team activities as appropriate and under supervision of senior psychologists and operational lead.
Have own caseload and have opportunity to work with clients and their families under clinical supervision.
Assisting senior clinicians in clinical activities in emotional and neurodevelopmental pathways., 1. To conduct, where appropriate, clinical screenings / assessments, including the use of psychometric instruments on people who contact the service who have mental health problems.
2. To support lead clinicians in service developing - including service design and training.
3. To undertake a range of procedures and practices underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practice.
4. To provide individual psychologically informed interventions/support to service users, referred to, or care co-ordinated, by the CAMHS Team utilising advanced counselling skills, cognitive-behavioural techniques and skills-based interventions.
5. To use highly developed, persuasive, negotiating and education skills to liaise with mental health/other professionals/agencies as required with respect to assessment, treatment, and management of young people.
6. To pursue relevant clinical interests by agreement with the Operational Services Manager and Senior Psychology colleagues.
7. To participate within the continuing profession development of the CAMHS Team.
8. To co-deliver workshops and trainings to parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals.
9. To attend clinical meeting and in-service training as required.
10. To keep up to date with new techniques and research for the maintenance and promotion of good practice especially in relation to students with neurodevelopmental disorders.
11. Record all clinical information in line with trust policies
12. Support service development and quality improvement project
13. To be responsible for the planning and prioritization of own workload and activities.
