Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Clinical Psychologist to join our health and social care integrated West Norfolk Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) based in Kings Lynn., The West Community Learning Disabilities Team is supportive, friendly and passionate about their work. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and in a variety of settings, e.g. day services, residential services, supported living and in people's own homes. Working in the learning disability service will enable you to gain varied experience with presentations such as behaviour that challenges, anxiety, depression, dementia, bereavement and other mental health conditions.

You will assist the work of a qualified Clinical Psychologists and will be required to carry out individual and group work and support with research activities as required. Under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Psychologist you will undertake assessments and interventions with adults with learning disabilities and their carers.

Main duties include:

  • Undertaking assigned activities under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist

  • Working jointly with other professionals

  • Usinga multi-disciplinary and research-led approach

  • Contributing to the work of the Community Learning Disabilities Team

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, capable and committed individual who is interested in pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology. Applicants must be Psychology Graduates who have achieved at least a 2:1 degree in Psychology. You will need good verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

    The Community Learning Disabilities Service has 5 integrated health and social care teams throughout Norfolk who supports adults who are living with a learning disability. The West Team is based at Park View Resource Centre in King's Lynn.
