Salary (pay award pending): £27,803 - £31,364 (Grade 5 subject to confirmation)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract type: Full Time or Term Time only + 3 weeks, fixed term contract for 12 months

Reporting to: Educational Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for two new Assistant Psychologists to join our in-house Educational Psychologist to support the provision of services to meet our school community's needs.

The post holders will also provide substantive support to the SEND Support team and work closely with the Safeguarding and Pastoral teams, SLT, teachers and support staff.

Each post will have a specific area of focus, these are:

- Whole school Identification, assessment and Intervention

- Students at Risk of Permanent Exclusion

The successful candidates will receive a comprehensive package of support and CPD and will be expected to:

· support the Educational Psychologist and SENCo to identify, assess and advise on the educational, social, emotional and mental health needs of children, and offering advice and support to their families.

· deliver interventions for individuals and groups as appropriate.

· contribute to project work, working closely with the school's EP, Counsellor and Assistant Headteacher - SENCo to support the school priorities and the needs identified.

· Work in close collaboration with colleagues across the school as well as external partners, agencies and other schools.

The job requires a person who;

· Has a Degree in Psychology or equivalent

· Is committed to continuous personal development

· Has experience of working with children, young people and families within an educational setting or within children's services.

  • Possess knowledge of approaches to working with pupils with special educational needs

  • Is able to build effective relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents

  • Has knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
