Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a full time (1.0wte) Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our Maternity Trauma and Loss Care (MTLC) Service.
The service is aimed at supporting women/birthing people who are affected by pregnancy loss (including terminations for any reason), still birth, neonatal loss, perinatal trauma, and those who have a fear of pregnancy/childbirth.
The service offers a combination of specialist psychological therapy and specialist midwifery input, to those whose needs cannot be met by other primary or secondary care services. MTLC has been developed in conjunction with Experts by Experience, drawing on the invaluable input of women/birthing people locally who have faced maternity trauma and loss.
The post holder will be responsible for providing support to a dedicated team of psychological practitioners and midwives and will play a key role in the collation and management of clinical outcome data for patients under the care of the team. There will also be opportunities to gain experience supporting clinicians with screening referrals, initial assessments and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. As a tri-borough service, the successful candidate will be asked to work across H&F, Ealing and Hounslow. Entry requirements - undergraduate degree in Psychology and eligibility for graduate membership with the British Psychological Society., Able to understand a number of psychological models and their applications for women who have experienced trauma and/or loss related to the maternity context.
An understanding of some of the outcome measures that are applicable to the Trauma and Perinatal context.
Facilitate, alongside other clinical team members, the initial screening / triaging of new referrals into the service and present these at the regular team referrals meeting.
Conducting initial assessments (initially jointly with other clinicians in the team, moving towards conducting alone once more clinically competent and confident).
Support the service with auditing
Being involved in the development of group materials to support clinical
expansion to offering groups.
Lead on building an external resource directory and associated materials for the service
