Assistant Psychologist

We are excited to offer Assistant Psychologist posts in the Early Intervention Psychosis (EIP) service within Forward Thinking Birmingham. This post is open to candidates with a psychology degree. The post holders will join a well-established and supportive Early Intervention in Psychosis service for young people aged between 16-35 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The Birmingham EIP service is comprised of four EIP teams located in different geographical areas across the city.
Each EIP Team supports the symptomatic, social, and personal recovery of young people with psychosis through the offer of NICE concordant care including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), Family Interventions for psychosis (FIp and Carer Support), and Supported Employment. The service collaborates with Improving Recovery through Organisational Change (ImRoC) and the Recovery Foundation to train and recruit Peer Support Workers (PSW) with lived experiences of mental psychosis and distress to facilitate Hope in Recovery groups., The post holder will work alongside the the qualified psychologist in their respective EIP team to support specialist psychological assessments, individual therapy, family interventions and group work. They will be expected to work alongside the multidisciplinary teams and support a range of MDT process including developing team-based formulations for CPA reviews, collecting and inputting of clinical outcomes, audit, and R & D work. There will also be opportunities for direct clinical work with service users and their families.
