Full Job Description

As our Assistant Psychologist, you will support our students in achieving their maximum potential by enhancing their behaviour and learning through developing effective behaviour management programmes and procedures. You will work across a range of settings including the college site and within the residential settings.,

  • Support the psychologist in preparing behavioural programmes and reflecting on risk factors for baseline assessments

  • Coordinate and chair meetings to plan and review behaviour plans or similar.

  • Undertake objective observations of students and produce functional assessments of behaviour

  • Analyse behaviour patterns to inform practice

  • Directly work with students in line with behaviour assessment and support plans, modelling strategies as deemed appropriate

  • Maintain and support accurate records of behaviour management and restrictive physical interventions

  • To work with the psychologist to reflect on the possible contributing factors of behavioural difficulty ad recommend support strategies

    Undergraduate psychology degree (2:1 or above).

  • 5 GCSE grade C or equivalent including Maths and English

  • Experience:

  • Experience of working with children / young people with special education needs and high-level support

  • Experience of working with ASD.

  • Working with multi-disciplinary team

  • Current evidence-based practice

    Salary: £12.78 - £14.72 per hour (£26,582 - £30,618 per annum) depending on experience


  • Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week - 52 weeks a year
