Full Time Assistant Psychologist Starting Salary £26,500 Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full time, experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join Cygnet Fountains in Blackburn, Lancashire. This role will be working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Cygnet Fountains Cygnet Fountains is our 32 bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Men placed with us often come from multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or are stepping down from secure settings. Job Role The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Cygnet Fountains by assisting the Qualified Psychologist in the delivery and evaluation of effective psychological services. The post holder will help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and

wellbeing of clients. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions. Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported. Candidate Profile You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all youll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable. Previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings is essential. At least 6 months previous
experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and group therapy sessions is desireable.
