Assistant Psychologist

1. To assist in the assessment, formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service users problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist2. Attend MDT meetings to provide input, build knowledge about service users needs, and their networks, and agree care plansBand 4 Assistant Psychologist3. To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups, under clinical supervision and in line with evidence base and best practice guidance4. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users of the service, across all settings where care takes place.5. To assist with cognitive assessment screening and support with cognitive testing, scoring and report writing where appropriate and required6. To support with promoting and taking part in co-production projects within the team and within the Trust services.7. Provide psycho-social

intervention, education and support to develop service users understanding of mental health problems, with the aim of promoting recovery and positive coping strategies, and preventing relapse and/or admission8. Liaise with staff in a variety of settings, ensuring that teams are able to respond effectively and efficiently to the needs of people with mental health problems in their care9.
