Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring psychologist, who has Graduate Basis for Registration.

Your goal is to offer intensive support to people, to minimise the number of people admitted to inpatient units.

We work closely with nursing, peer specialist and carer specialists in the team and have other therapists too.

You will work with people with a wide range of mental health problems, their families and carers. Experience in a crisis or ward environment will be an advantage.

There will be opportunities for direct clinical work, service evaluation and research and supervision from highly experienced clinical psychologists., You will provide specialist crisis interventions for those referred into our service. You will be a key member of the team and help contribute to the multi-disciplinary team's thinking and care-planning by working closely with psychiatry and nursing colleagues. Your primary role is to provide formulation and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals and a significant part of the role is being supported to learn to assess and formulate before delivering treatments. We also regularly audit and review our activity and outcomes, to help us continue to improve and develop our work, and you will contribute to this.
