Are you an existing Assistant Psychologist looking for a new challenge? Or an aspiring Psychologist seeking your first Assistant role? If you have the passion, drive, and commitment towards providing the very best psychological support to young people we would love for you to come and join us in Suffolk Young Adult Mental Health Service (YAMHS)!, Our service provides highly specialist mental health treatment to young people aged 18-25 experiencing moderate to severe mental health disorders. We're seeking three proactive, passionate, and motivated Assistant Psychologists to join our service; and have vacancies available in our three YAMHS teams, To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the nominated Specialist YAMHS service, to in summary:

  • Support the overall psychological care and treatment of young adults within the service.
  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist; including the use of specialist psychometric assessments.
  • Under supervision, to deliver brief psychological interventions.
  • Support the qualified Clinical Psychologist in the development and delivery of workshops and training packages.
  • Participate in audit, research, service evaluation, and project activities.
  • For research evaluation role - to work alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to lead on implementation and evaluation of interventions within PD/CEN strategy. This will include the collation and evaluation of data, dissemination of results, involvement with broader research activity, training of teams, possible presentation at conference.

  • 2 Full-Time Assistant Clinical Psychologist - West Suffolk YAMHS (Bury St Edmunds) - 22 month fixed-termcontract.
  • 1 Full-Time Assistant Clinical Psychologist - split role: 0.5 Central Suffolk YAMHS (Stowmarket), 0.5 research evaluation for Personality Disorder/Complex Emotional Needs Strategy across YAMHS service
