Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of activities under the guidance and supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. These include direct clinical work (including group work), report writing, assisting in projects and data collection.

The post in TES will also be involved in assessments for the diagnosis of adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions and assessments for ADHD. Within this service there are a number of psychology assistants to work alongside.

The post in Bolton will work primarily within the Autism Spectrum Post-Diagnostic pathway.

The canditate will work with qualified staff in their clinical and administrative duties. As the job involves working with clients in a specialist context, essential requirements for the post include: previous paid experience as an Assistant Psychologist, experience of working with people with Autism Spectrum Conditions, a good degree in psychology (upper second class honours degree or above); a high level of communication skills; capacity to work productively in a demanding environment; and an ability to accept and use supervision appropriately. Desirable qualities include previous experience of work with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities, teaching, training and research evaluation, including the application of statistical packages.

There are opportunities to gain a broad range of experience and to develop clinical and teaching skills.

An opportunity have arisen within the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Autism and ADHD services.

This is a 12-month fixed term combined post covering Trafford Extended Service and Bolton Autism Team.

In Trafford Extended Service (TES) you would work alongside an experienced Clinical Lead Clinical Psychologist and our established multi-disciplinary team. Trafford Extended Service (TES) provides an assessment and post-diagnostic service to adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions (without Learning Disabilities) and an assessment and treatment service for people with Attention Deficit Hyper-Activity Disorder. TES is part of the South Manchester Directorate which provides integrated mental health and social care services, community-based and in patient.

This post also sits within the Bolton Autism Spectrum Conditions Team (ASC), which provides a post-diagnostic service to adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions (without Learning Disabilities). The Bolton ASC Team is part of the Bolton Directorate, which provides integrated mental health and social care services, community-based and in patient. There is also a primary care mental health service., Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over6,400members of staff, who deliver services from more than160locations.
