Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated assistant psychologist to join the Adult CLDT Trafford Team based at Sale Waterside.
The successful applicant will be well supported by a Clinical Psychologist and will have access to regular supervision and a personal development plan with opportunities to further develop their skills.
The Adult CLDT Trafford is part of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust (CWP), which provides comprehensive learning disability services across the Cheshire, Wirral and Trafford. The team links closely into the wider learning disability care group within CWP, and has excellent governance and support structures. CWP also hosts the Centre for Autism, Neuro Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID) and has a commitment to research and quality improvement initiatives. The team also links closely with our colleagues in Greater Manchester, as part of a wider Greater Manchester Network.
The post requires an enthusiasm and commitment to working with adults with learning disabilities within a person-centred approach.
If you are looking for a new challenge, enjoy variety in your work and wish to be part of a team who are actively working to make a difference to adults with learning disabilities and their families then this is the post for you!, We are a well-established and friendly team based in Sale, to the South of Manchester. Psychology is a valued and respected component of the team.
The post holder will work with the existing psychology team to support psychology provision. In addition to direct work with service users there is a particular focus on supporting the team with formulation and advice and consultation clinics. We would also encourage the post holder to be involved in broader service and professional issues, such as training and research.
We are confident that we can support ongoing professional development that is sensitive to the needs of the individual, their interests and the often under recognised psychological needs of this client group.
Our psychology services are organised so as to have locality management coupled with parallel professional systems for support and supervision.
CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care - including the provision of three GP surgeries.
Our aim is to help people to be the best they can be, adopting a compassionate, person-centred approach to everything we do. We were recently rated as Outstanding for Caring by the Care Quality Commission with a Good rating overall.
We offer a variety of roles at all levels, so whether you are just starting out in your career or looking to use your skills and experience in a new role, CWP is the right employer for you.
CWP are committed to making our recruitment practices as inclusive as possible for everyone. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and developing a culture that values differences.
To support this, we offer up to three weeks induction, dependent on role, with our Prepare to Care programme for all new starters. This programme welcomes you to CWP and provides you with information and training to support you in your role.
We welcome applications from people who have direct experience of accessing our services.
