Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Psychologist to become an integral part of our friendly and expanding team within the Psychological Services department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to our neurorehabilitation and neuro-oncology services, delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological support to individuals coping with brain injuries and brain tumours.

The post will be managed within the wider Department of Psychological Services, which is a rapidly expanding and forward thinking team of psychologists and psychological therapists. The post will be supported with regular supervision from experienced qualified clinicians, access to peer support and professional development opportunities, and engagement with our medical teams, renowned for their dedication and innovative approaches to patient care., The Assistant Psychologist will contribute to high-quality patient care within the neurorehabilitation and neuro-oncology services, administering cognitive tests and offering psychological support under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist . The post holder will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in research and audit activities, and adhere to Trust and departmental policies while staying updated on service and professional standards.

There will be opportunities for delivering training to other staff as guided by their supervisor, ensuring compliance with record-keeping guidelines, and engaging in service-related research under supervision. Additionally, they will work within the code of ethics and professional practice guidelines, keeping abreast of developments in clinical psychology.
