Full Job Description

CNTW NHS Trust's Children and Young People's Inpatient Services are looking for a motivated, skilled and compassionate assistant psychologist, who can work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to improve the lives of children and young people who require care in an inpatient setting.

Lotus Ward opened in April 2021, it is a 10-bed General Admission Unit for children and young people up to 18 years of age which will provide assessment and treatment for young people diagnosed with complex mental health problems. This service is based at Acklam Road Hospital, Middlesbrough.

The psychology team includes a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Senior Clinical Psychologist, who work closely with other members of Psychological Services including a Drama Therapist, Music Therapist and Family Therapist. Psychological services meet regularly to discuss the young people. Clinical supervision will be scheduled in addition to regular access to informal support from psychological services staff., The post holder will contribute to assessments and formulations, with some opportunity to deliver individual and group interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. There are opportunities to contribute to audit and service evaluation projects within the service and organisation. The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, within this there will be opportunities to join in reflective practice and training sessions.
