Full Job Description
The Assistant Psychologist will work closely with the Clinical Neuropsychologist and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder will support the completion of cognitive and specialist neuropsychological assessment as appropriate, to help timely assessment and diagnosis of dementia. The role will involve participating in MDT discussions, maintaining waiting lists and completion of audits.,
- Under supervision the post holder will be expected to assist qualified clinical staff to undertake protocol based psychological assessments of clients applying psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.
- Under supervision and management to undertake clinical interventions and evaluate interventions, as required.
- To assist in the delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems, under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
- To assist and support the delivery of specific group interventions.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
- To assist in the preparation of reports and letters regarding clinical activity with clients.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate assistant psychologist with a genuine interest in older adult mental health and working with people with dementia. The team specialises in completing comprehensive assessments with people who have difficulties with their memory., The position is open to applicants who have an undergraduate psychology degree. We require someone who is organised, can work autonomously and has excellent people skills.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care. The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
