Full Job Description

Assisting the team to deliver group interventions including: DBT skills, art psychotherapy, ACT, CFT, mindfulness, relaxation and other accessible psychological skills that help to manage distress, promote wellbeing and build confidence.
There will be a administrative component to the post including organising materials, completing attendance records and recording clinical notes and collecting quality improvement data to monitor the effectiveness of the intervention. This can include standardised outcome measures as well as tailored outcomes.
The post will also include substantial contact with patients and staff on the inpatient wards, to provide information about the groups and encourage and support attendance.
Additional duties will include assisting with quality improvement projects.
The post will be supervised of the Principal Clinical Psychologist with support from the rest of the team.
The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification., We provide a Multi-professional preceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified; Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module "Preceptorship for Healthcare" (AP7026).
Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
Clinical
· Assist in the planning, coordination and running of therapeutic groups across the hospital. This will be the core part of the role and will include working with CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT and Art Psychotherapy in group formats.
· Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and / or management of a service users problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, in in-patient settings.
· Maintain appropriate records in electronic or hard copy in line with Trust policies and Professional guidelines. Includes workload data and using word processing skills to produce service user related reports
Leadership / Management
· Assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required
Teaching, training and supervision
· Assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
· Contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care.
Research and service evaluation
· Assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects.
· Undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes.
· Undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
Professional
· Manages work independently according to goals agreed at intervals with their manager, working independently on a day to day basis
· Works within guidance and direction of qualified Psychologist and guided by the Profession's standards including HCPC and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Other
· Perform other duties of a similar kind appropriate to the grade that may be required from time to time by their Psychology lead
