Full Job Description

The duties of the post holder will include:

  • Co-facilitating therapy groups
  • Holding a small caseload of therapy of patients under supervision of a qualified psychologist
  • Supporting the management of the waiting lists
  • Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
  • Outcome measure collection and auditing
  • To be involved in new service developments within the team

The post holder will be responsible in supporting the work of the psychologists and other professionals working in the Enfield EIP (or Early Intervention in Psychosis) Services, including specialist assessment and the provision of both individual and group Psychological Interventions. They will be responsible for facilitating therapeutic groups and providing key-working sessions and short-term therapeutic interventions to service users. The post holder will be expected to work in the community team in line with service needs. To work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multidisciplinary team in delivering services. The post holder will receive clinical supervision as appropriate and partake in reflective practice/training on a regular basis. The partnership between Barnet,Enfieldand Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originallyestablishedin 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership. In order tomeet the needs of the new Partnership services you may berequiredfrom time to time to work atdifferent locationsto your normal place of work. This may mean that youare required towork at any location that fall underBarnet,Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis. 1. To assist in the assessment, formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist 2. Attend MDT meetings to provide input, build knowledge about service users' needs, and their networks, and agree care plans Band 4 Assistant Psychologist 3. To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups, under clinical supervision and in line with evidence base and best practice guidance 4. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users of the service, across all settings where care takes place. 5. To assist with cognitive assessment screening and support with cognitive testing, scoring and report writing where appropriate and required 6. To support with promoting and taking part in co-production projects within the team and within the Trust services. 7. Provide psycho-social intervention, education and support to develop service users' understanding of mental health problems, with the aim of promoting recovery and positive coping strategies, and preventing relapse and/or admission 8. Liaise with staff in a variety of settings, ensuring that teams are able to respond effectively and efficiently to the needs of people with mental health problems in their care 9. Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely documentation / records on all service users in line with professional code and Trust policies To be noted: This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities, and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the grade of the job, in discussion with the manager.
