Full Job Description

KMPT Forensic services specialise in the assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders, serving the county of Kent and a population of approximately 1.5 million.

The main responsibility of the post-holder is to participate in the provision of Psychological Services to people with offending histories and / or behaviours that challenge within the Low Secure Learning Disability and Mental Health Services in Dartford.

Bringing to bear clinical and data analysis skills, you will be developing a role already established within the team to work closely with service users, ward staff, and the wider team in supporting the delivery of a comprehensive psychology service in the units and evaluation of the services.The post will involve working closely with other agencies, including Community services and the Criminal Justice System.

0.5 days per week will be dedicated to supporting research, QI and service evaluation projects within the service.

The hardest part of the job is to co-ordinate a number of inter-related, and often time consuming, tasks within the time and resource demands of the service.

During this 12 month fixed term contract, the post-holder will provide clinical, research and administrative support to the psychological therapies staff in the forensic and specialist inpatient learning disabilities services under their direct guidance and supervision, in order to assist in providing and monitoring the service provision within the Service Line.

o have a minimum of an upper second class degree in Psychology (2i)

o be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a team

o have experience of undertaking research and collation and evaluation of data

o have a MSc in research, psychology or criminology

Previous experience of working in mental health services or forensic services would be an advantage., Disability Confident
