Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a full time Assistant Psychologist to work across the Locality Adult Mental Health teams in Rotherham and into the Psychological Therapy Hub. A significant focus of the role is to be involved in the delivery of therapeutic groups, mainly those for Trauma Stabilisation and Emotional Coping Skills. In addition to these groups, we have an extensive programme where we also deliver groups for anxiety, mood disorders (using Acceptance and Commitment therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy and coping with voices. The role would also involve working with individuals to deliver one to one interventions aimed at stabilisation and coping skills with those individuals where a group setting would not be appropriate. There would also be opportunities to be involved in service evaluation and research projects within our teams. We have a committed and enthusiastic team of people working into these pathways and we are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic,
organised and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to be part of this team to meet the needs of service users.

In Rotherham we have a growing team of supportive, compassionate and value-driven Psychological Professions who are passionate about providing high quality clinical care to service users and influencing the wider delivery of care through the support of the locality teams.

The post holder will have experience of working within Adult Mental Health services and ideally in delivering groups and will be eligible for graduate membership of the BPS. They will have knowledge and an understanding of complex mental health difficulties and of the challenges faced by people with mental health problems, particularly those with experiences of trauma and where they may have difficulties in interpersonal relationships.

In your application form, in your supporting information, we would like you to discuss a recent experience of running a group and what you have learnt from it.

The successful candidates will receive management supervision from the team manager and clinical supervision from a Senior Clinical Psychologist.

We reserve the right to close the advert earlyshould there be a high number of applicants.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) employ around 3700 talented colleagues who are very much appreciated, valued, and respected.
