Full Job Description

Purdy Contracts Limited, part of Kinovo Plc, have an opportunity for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team, based at our new Dereham Office.

The main purpose of the role is to undertake all aspects of quantity surveying / estimating from pre-contract through to post contract services in line with our Clients requirements. Provide commercial insight into the performance of contracts and assist with ensuring that profit is maximised and efficiencies are targeted across the business. Preparation of valuations and final accounts in line with our Clients requirements and support the Directors and Head of Commercial.

Duties include:

  • Maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management on projects.

  • Commercially manage and control sub-contractor packages on projects.

  • Protection of the Company's contractual position on all contracts.

  • Produce accounts on projects worked on.

  • Prepare financial reports, final accounts and claim documents as required.

  • Review contract conditions and provide risk management advice to understand the company's contractual obligations.

  • Produce budgetary advice including cash flows.

  • Ensure sub-contractor orders are placed in due time and in a way that protects the Company's contractual position.

  • Prepare valuations and issue all appropriate notices in line with the Company's policies and the contractual terms.

  • Produce reports as required including the preparation of CVR information.

  • Produce and keep adequate records in order to safeguard the Company's contractual position

  • Compliance with both ours and Clients management systems

    Be fully competent in MS Office and other company specific applications with exceptional mathematical skills.

  • Building Regulations and other industry standards (essential)

  • All forms of Contract, including traditional, partnering and Local Authority style frameworks (essential)

  • HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying qualification/RICS Professional membership preferred.

  • Experience of the social housing market

  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritise tasks under pressure.

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and ability to check own and others' work.

  • Relevant Trade background a distinct advantage for pricing knowledge.
