Join our Power Commercial team as assistant Quantity Surveyor and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry. Role Purpose: With support from more senior members of the commercial team, they will manage the costs of the works and ensure that their part of the project meets legal and quality standards. They will, for their area of responsibility, be also responsible for the effective engagement and management of our supply chain. This project coverage: Net Zero TeessideWhat you'll be doing

  • Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's GMCEs, BMS and other governance
  • Measure, record & value work in line with the contract, supervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures
  • CEMAR Contract Management/ CEs, EWNs etc
  • Assess and return subcontractor AfPs/ CEs.
  • Weekly call with each individual Subcontractor
  • Chase Payment Notices for AfP Assessments and ensure cash received
  • Collation of Cost and Value Information
  • Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements
  • Gather data & carry out research on current construction costs
  • Seek out, locate and assemble pre and post contract documentation, complimented with the necessary administration skills
  • Be responsible for weekly and monthly works programmes
  • Awareness of different programme formats
  • Use the company's ERP System and BMS systems
  • Collect information required to specify procurement requirements
  • Record and document information including registration of interest
  • Understand the steps / documentation required
  • Helps support development of others, Day in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.

    Typically they will have a quantity surveying degree or be in the final stages of achieving the same on a part-time basis.
  • A Graduate QS will be proactively following the structured training programmes to achieve their professional qualifications from the RICS, ICES or CIOB

  • 37.5 hours Monday to Friday.
