Full Job Description

NIHR The Royal Marsden Clinical Research Facility based on West Wing Clinical Research centre, Sutton has an excellent opportunity for a diligent and hard working individual to join our team and support important cancer drug development. The post holder will provide administration support the West Wing Clinical Research Centre clinical team by facilitating the smooth and efficient set up of new clinical trials. The main duties involve the creation of Source Data Worksheets for all Clinical Trials run on the unit in addition to supporting the Research Facilitator with any delegated tasks in relation to the maintenance of essential staff training documentation and quality assurance documentation for the unit., + To be responsible for the organisation and general maintenance of the laboratory, ensuring that clinical trial sample processing, storage and shipment is performed in compliance with the protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
+ Liaising with the laboratory Manager (LM), the individual should ensure that procedures are developed, documented and implemented to maintain the integrity of all clinical trial samples and to provide a complete audit trail from processing, through storage and shipment to the study sponsor.
+ The post-holder will be expected to process a large number of blood samples, prepare samples for shipment as required by sponsor companies and act as the main point of contact for delivery of supplies, sample queries and shipment., + Liaise with WWCRC LM to develop a standardised procedure for sample processing for each trial specific protocol.
+ Ensure all samples are logged into electronic system
+ Develop and maintain sample records and freezer logs such that a database of all tissues stored within the unit is maintained.
+ Maintain accurate records of freezer, fridge and cupboard temperatures in accordance with GCP.
