A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER (Maternity Cover Approx 9 months) AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the F&B Management Team, you will effectively lead and manage the Restaurant areas along with meetings, exclusive use events, weddings and special occasions. The success of this role relies on planning and leading the team to ensure service levels meet and exceed the expectations of each guest achieving luxury 5-star and brand standards

You can expect your working day to include the following;

  • We're all about the 5service! Take ownership for your team as part of the guest journey, ensuring an immediate heartfelt welcome and maximising to make a memorable guest experience within the hotel.

  • To converse with the guests from the heart, ensure that your team are proactive, attentive and reactive to requests anticipating guest needs.

  • Training and supervising employees to ensure that they are performing their jobs correctly and are fully conversant with the facilities, services and promotions offered by the hotel and whenever appropriate. To offer this information to the guest and maximise all sales opportunities.

  • To assist in the management of the F&B department's costs through correct ordering process, storage and distribution of supplies, PAR levels and stock counts completed monthly. Ensure that all mis-en place is well maintained or ordered in advance of BEO requirements. To receive goods in line with company procedures and develop stock accountability amongst team members.

  • Monitoring employee productivity and prioritising service levels to ensure that goals are being met. To respond to employee requests in a timely manner ensuring fairness and consistency whilst maintaining standards. To deal with any HR requirements as per the company policies and procedures.

  • Communication is key! Keep the team up to date about departmental, hotel and company activities including financial feedback and customer feedback reporting platforms, taking appropriate actions for improvement along with identifying, planning and delivery of training needs.

  • Highlight recruitment needs in advance to ensure proactive planning. Arranging and completion of interviews as per the recruitment policy. Assist to induct new starts with departmental welcome induction to the set company standard.

  • Monitor and comply with all company and legal statutory requirements and H&S requirements demonstrating due diligence.
