The Role:

As the Assistant SEN Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the SEN Service Manager in the delivery and management of SEN services for pupils either undergoing an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment or with and EHC Plan aged between 11 and 25 years. You will ensure that our services are effective, efficient, and aligned with statutory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

-Service Delivery: Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of SEN services to ensure high-quality support for children and young people.
-Team Leadership: Support the management and development of the SEN team, providing guidance, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
-Case Management: Support managers to oversee complex cases, ensuring that assessments, plans, and reviews are conducted in a timely and effective manner.
-Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with education settings, parents, carers, and other agencies to promote inclusive education and support for SEN students.
-Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Prepare reports and data analysis to inform service improvements.
-Budget Management: Assist in the management of the SEN budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience:

-Education: A degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in SEN or a related area is desirable.
-Experience: Significant experience working within SEN services, including case management and team leadership in the area of preparation for adulthood. Experience in a local authority setting is preferred.
-Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
-Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices. Understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with SEN and their families, in particular in the area of preparation for adulthood.
