Full Job Description

Applications for a secondment post of Assistant Service Manager are invited within the Dermatology Department across both our Leighton and Macclesfield Service. The post holder will be working in conjunction with the Service Management Team to provide management support which include the following:

  • Supporting the annual planning and business cycle
  • Demand and capacity planning
  • Performance monitoring including RTT and Cancer
  • Specialty projects
  • The post holder will also be required to deputise for the Service Managers during periods of leave. This will include representing the management team at senior meetings., Support, develop and maintain systems for agreed services within the sub-division and ensure these are effectively implemented and evaluated according to agreed policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide operational management for and provide expertise, advice and guidance to improve service delivery. With the support of the Service Manager, contribute to and lead where appropriate on the review and development of service and workforce plans. Analyse and act upon information to proactively manage and maintain relevant NHS targets, including profiling activity to ensure target requirements are met. To assist with the control of expenditure, ensuring it remains within budget for all administrative areas. Represent the Division at meetings, both as a participant, and/or to produce minutes, document notes, and action plans, distributing documentation as required.

    It is essential that the post holder has exemplary communication skills and has the ability to prioritise their workload. The post holder will have excellent people and management skills and applicants would have to display exceptional interpersonal skills at interview.
