Full Job Description

In conjunction with the Specialty Manager, take a leading role in providing day to day support to
the SBU's Admin & Clerical staff and lead on the Doctors in Training rota planning., To provide full support to the Specialty Manager in the day to day operational management and
coordination of the Access and Medicine, to work collaboratively within the speciality business unit
management team. Coordination of project work to support service transformation and development:
day-to-day management of all administrative and clerical services, including the planning of the
Doctors in Training rota to make sure it remains compliant and cost-effective, as well as ensuring
full-service cover is in place. Working with the Specialty Manager to ensure that the strategic
business unit service meets and achieves national performance indicators i.e. cancer waiting times,
18 weeks, all quality, activity and financial targets and indicators. The post holder will also provide
line management to the Medical Secretaries and administration teams.

The Assistant Speciality Manager-Rota Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting the Specialty Manager in day-to-day operations, specifically focusing on managing staff rotas. The ideal candidate will ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet service demands and that rotas are compliant with organisational policies and regulations. This key administrative role not only requires excellent organisational skills and attention to detail but also the ability to communicate effectively with various teams, highlighting the collaborative nature of the role.
