Full Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the team of assistants within Aseptic Services. We have a highly regarded Aseptic Production Unit (APU) at the Trust and we have recently moved into our brand new unit at the Royal Liverpool. The post holders must have the ability to supervise as well as being responsible for the delivery of support activities to the aseptic service. The successful applicants will carry out senior duties in a number of areas including:

  • Chemotherapy Service assisting with providing a cytotoxic reconstitution service.
  • Parenteral Nutrition Service assisting with the production of adult and neonatal products.
  • Intravenous Additive Service to offer an extensive range of products for both internal patients and external customers.
  • Supply & dispatch of products to external customers., To supervise, develop support services and implement change along with being responsible for the delivery of support activities to the aseptic service., The successful applicants will carry out senior duties in a number of areas including:

The amount of £23 (standard disclosure) or £43 (enhanced disclosure) will be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment. Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd December will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (Enhanced). From April 2017, Skilled visa applicants and their adult dependant(s) will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have lived in consecutively for 12 months or more in the past ten years. Staff should be mindful of their responsibility to safeguard children and adults in any activity performed on behalf of the organisation in line with the requirements of statutory guidance and legislation. All employees (and volunteers)are expected maintain their safeguarding knowledge and skills by completing mandatory safeguarding training which includes understanding and recognising the signs of abuse and neglect and taking appropriate action. As an organisation, we have adopted the Merseyside Domestic abuse workplace scheme which supports our staff who are experiencing Domestic Abuse /any forms of sexual violence.

  • Experience in pharmacy aseptic services
  • Evidence of relevant and on-going personal CPD
  • Aseptic manufacturing and dispensing experience, Enthusiastic with ability to motivate self and others.
  • Able to use initiative.
  • Methodical with attention to detail
  • Ability to work as per departmental weekend, evening and bank holiday rotas., NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services
  • Willingness to attend the four day aseptic course APDM in Leeds, Ability to work accurately
  • Good communication including verbal, written and electronic.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work with all grades of staff.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Training and mentoring skills

    Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
