Our Consultancy Services team delivers a variety of traffic engineering and consultancy projects both in the UK and internationally. We are committed to providing professional, high-quality, and reliable solutions, working closely with our customers to address diverse transport engineering challenges and deliver sustainable, innovative solutions. Purpose of the role This is a dynamic, customer-facing role where you will take full responsibility for delivering a wide range of traffic engineering projects, including design (traffic signals, traffic engineering, enforcement, and electric vehicle infrastructure), traffic modelling, and report writing. You will manage these projects throughout their full lifecycle, from the early stages of bids and tenders, through customer requirements capture and technical delivery, to financial project management and ongoing customer support. This role requires close collaboration with other members of the Consultancy Services team, providing design assistance across a range of disciplines. Areas of responsibility and tasks

  • Assist in delivering a wide range of traffic engineering projects across the UK in accordance with current national / local standards, guidance, and best practices
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with traffic engineering projects
  • Travel for site visits and customer meetings, with overnight stays where necessary
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Prepare consultancy / design quotations

    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with other business areas and customers
  • Problem-solving skills for complex challenges
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage your workload independently, A good understanding of most or all of the following traffic engineering competencies is expected :
  • Traffic signal design fundamentals and UK standards / specifications
  • Traffic engineering software, including AutoCAD, preferably with KeySignals
  • Knowledge of traffic signal products across the industry
  • Educational Requirements It is preferred that candidates are working towards or have an HNC / HND / Degree level qualification in engineering or a related subject, or have relevant experience.
