Full Job Description
Advisory Consulting provides expert guidance and strategic advice to help businesses solve complex challenges, improve performance, and achieve their goals. In this role you will learn to analyse business processes, identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions applicable to the business, their industry and market trends. Completion of Advisory Consulting tasks will be at the direction of managers.,
- Complete advisory consulting work by undertaking and completing tasks allocated, to a level agreed with your manager.
- Proactively highlight issues for attention of the manager in a timely manner, with potential solutions where possible
- Join client meetings, taking full notes and action points and then ensuring their dissemination and completion
- Support research tasks to assist with business development efforts and client projects.
- Actively taking an interest in the client's business and industry to develop knowledge and understanding, including building an understanding of the financial metrics of the business and how they could be improved
- Assist in data analysis, including transformation of data into a useable format for further analysis or use in presentations/reports, with a clear audit trail from the original dataset provided
- Report writing, beginning with an initial focus on formatting and drafting specific sections of a report, to fully owning report delivery when trained
- Build relationships with colleagues across the department and the wider office at a peer level.
- Express an interest and seek opportunities to get involved in marketing activities. Supporting on events and attending when appropriate.
- Be aware of current economic and business issues, building up to be able to regularly contribute to department meetings on any updates and changes in the market.
- Support the team in client financial and risk management, including: + Completing anti-money laundering and onboarding checks for new clients + Drafting engagement letters including scope of work for manager review + Preparing budgets and project plans + Setting up draft report templates ahead of fieldwork that meet the scope of work + Proactively tracking work in progress and time costs, and billing clients when instructed by a manager. Communication with other staff
- Understand from manager, scope of tasks allocated and objectives to be achieved
- Coach more junior staff (from years 2-3 onwards)
- Record clearly and concisely work done
- Keep manager/director informed of:
- Problems encountered
- Issues needing urgent resolution/risks identified
- Time over-runs
- Areas where additional work required/client non-performance
- Suggest to manager solutions to any issues/problems encountered Client liaison
- Establishing relationship point as appropriate
- Resolution of queries with client at direction of a manager Organisational
- Prioritise tasks
- Assist with project management element of projects such as diarising meetings, liaising with client on availabilities. Staff development
- In addition to potentially being able to study for an accounting qualification in due course, you will have opportunity for training on areas such as financial modelling, PowerBI, project management, certified turnaround professional, subject to agreement by your manager and approved business requirement.
The role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work across diverse industries and adapt to the unique needs of each client., Educated to degree level with a track record of strong academic performance, particularly analytical/logical areas such as maths - Degrees in business, accounting & finance, economics or a related field would be desirable but not required, Ideal candidates for this role should demonstrate a keen interest in problem-solving, strategic thinking and understanding how businesses operate.

- The candidate should be highly motivated, adaptable and eager to learn from experienced professionals with an ability to quickly grasp new concepts in a fast-paced environment
