Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for food safety professionals to conduct food safety and health & safety audits on behalf of Food Alert for our extensive client base. This includes auditing, coaching, and training clients to help them meet legislative and good practice requirements. This is a self-employed consultancy role.

If you are looking for your next career move and you are interested in working with some of the most innovative and exciting hospitality brands in the UK then Food Alert could be the ideal next step in your career.

About the role

You'll attend calibration sessions either virtually or in person for all new clients in order to obtain a detailed understanding of service delivery requirements. You will also carry out food hygiene and health & safety inspections and record audits at clients' premises using designated software, as well as producing reports.

You will provide advice and consultancy information for clients and carry out risk assessments for them (occupational, manual handling, personal protective equipment).

You will hold a relevant food safety and health & safety qualification - usually a BSc Environmental Health or a minimum level 4 Food Safety plus relevant industry experience. You will have experience of conducting food safety and health and safety audits of hospitality premises with a focus on hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars. You will be able to organise your own time, comfortable working on your own and able to quickly learn new systems and software. You will be able to provide a constructive approach with clients and forge a professional relationship.

You can specify the geographical areas you would like to work in and the maximum number of audits you would like to do in any given week or month. This is a self-employed position, and you are free to accept or refuse any work. Any refusal to accept work will not preclude you from being offered further work when the opportunity arises. As with all self-employed work, there is no guarantee of regularity of work, or that any work will be provided at all.
