Associate Building Performance Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated expert engineer to join our team in London, to work on some of the most exciting retrofit projects in the UK and around the world. The role will be to help lead and develop our growing UK Building Physics team. There will be a strong focus on resource, people and financial management, with an emphasis on business development and industry leadership. You will be required to quickly assimilate the innovative services we have developed so that you can use these to promote our services and wider Cundall capacity in the local market. Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will design, analyse, report and document Building Performance projects as well as interface with clients. You will work across a variety of sectors and will hold management levels of responsibility and autonomy. As a chartered engineer you will draw upon your substantial knowledge and skills in building services design and modelling, to assist with the development of decarbonisation strategies for existing buildings. The role will include supporting and developing some of our key work streams:

• Building physics and thermal modelling
• Design for performance, predictive energy modelling and operational energy assessments (TM54 and DfP)
• Building Regulations
• Building services design
  
  Educated to Masters level in Engineering and having gained at least 10 years relevant, practical experience in a Principal or Associate level role within a consultancy environment. You have demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly in relation to heat transfer, energy, comfort criteria, CIBSE Guidance and other industry standards.
Knowledge of dynamic simulation software such as IES Virtual Environment and the UK Building Regulations, including an understanding of the National Calculation Methodology is essential, as is a good understanding of mechanical design. Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, effective communication skills and some experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
