Associate - Commercial, TMT & IP

Haggerty Jaques is looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join its client's dynamic Commercial, TMT, and IP team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with two well-known, highly experienced lawyers.

The Firm

The firm acts for a varied client base, including private sector businesses such as listed companies, SMEs, and start-ups, as well as public sector organisations like the NHS, local government, higher education institutions, and utilities companies.

This well-structured team focuses on non-contentious commercial work, offering a wide range of services across several industries. It has expertise in commercial, IP, and IT advisory work, particularly in contract drafting, negotiation, and strategic positioning. As a close-knit group, its lawyers make great use of collaboration to share ideas, new developments, and business leads.

The Role

As a member of the team, you will be advising clients on a broad spectrum of contracts including those related to supply chains, technology (SaaS), outsourcing, and IP transfers.

The successful candidate will also have the chance to support corporate transactions, particularly in due diligence and negotiating agreements such as IP assignments and supply contracts. A good understanding of Data Protection, UK GDPR, and IP rights in commercial relationships is essential. Experience in advising on business-to-consumer terms is an advantage., The ideal candidate would be a UK-qualified solicitor with at least four years' PQE and a strong track record in a similar role. It is anticipated that a lawyer of this level will have had good exposure to a range of commercial issues affecting their clients, as well as a good grounding in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts., Any references to PQE/years' experience in our adverts are included purely as a guide and should not preclude candidates who believe they have the requisite skills and experience from applying.
