Full Job Description

Brand Lead UK & Ireland is the most senior leadership role of the cross-functional brand team, accountable for the success of the brand, ownership of the fully loaded P&L (including budget for the cross functional team members), and brand strategy that drives successful launch and performance. The Brand Lead, along with core brand team members, will be responsible for the development of the brand strategy and execution of tactics across all customer types and functions. As the most senior member of the brand team, this position will lead and is accountable for cross-functional brand team performance (i.e., Marketing, Sales, Medical, VAP and WCC); ensuring seamless working of the team as a single, agile unit, to achieve brand strategic imperatives. This role will also be responsible for the performance management and development of all core brand team members.,

  • Accountable for fully loaded P&L across UK & Ireland IMM portfolio and owns decision on how the budget is used for cross-functional team resourcing/capabilities (e.g. Functional mix and capability needs, FTE v. non-FTE budget)
  • Leads a cross-functional team across Commercial, Access, Medical, and enabling Functions for a common and compliant set of brand objectives
  • Execution of the complex multi-product and indication portfolio strategy: the individual will also be responsible for future launch assets and indications. The role therefore offers the clear opportunity to play a key leadership role in the further transformation of the UK/Ireland business by preparing for and managing a broad highly complex product portfolio
  • Accountable for the sales forecast/budget targets of BMS' product portfolio for the UK & Ireland; monitors and analyses progress, mitigates against shortages and implements corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Partner with BUDs and Ireland Country Lead to ensure ongoing efforts to maximize Field Force Effectiveness
  • Accountable for the brands sales & field OPEX expense budget and marketing and local payer budget. Oversight of d elivery of all marketing, market access, and sales activities within the agreed budget
  • Leads commercial teams' identification and mapping of key stakeholders and establishes strong relationships with external bodies (Key NHS - for the UK - and HSE - for Ireland - Stakeholders , ie, Payers, Patient Associations, KOLs, Brand advocates, etc.) as relevant.
  • As a member of the Business Unit leadership team, the individual is expected to operate in close coordination and collaboration with her/his peers at the local level as well as with partners in the global HQ
  • Identifies opportunities to shape regional/local NHS/HSE strategy and guidelines to enhance the patient pathway in the areas of interest to BMS's portfolio
  • Acts with an understanding of the environmental pressures that customers face and leading on bringing relevant stakeholders together to find timely solutions.
  • Actively leads and fosters an environment for learning and development of team members based on their needs, motivations and business requirements (consistent with company direction)
  • Encourage and promote brand team members to take action under uncertain conditions and champion simplified and innovative ideas and approaches
  • Foster a leadership culture, which attracts, develop and retains high caliber candidates; build and shape a brand team talent pool that drives the future success of the organisation.
  • Drives dynamic resource allocation (i.e., ability to make a business case to adjust budget) to meet brand / DA objectives over time
  • Utilizes an omnichannel, personalized approach to marketing, leveraging advanced analytics, and modular content processes .
  • Provides input to BI&A teams on development of advanced analytics and uses them to inform/ refine brand strategies and understand brand performance
  • Actively participates in performance calibration sessions (PDD) and provides input (on objectives and compliant performance feedback) to Functional Managers for all cross-functional brand team members
  • Drives and ensures adoption of new ways of working across brand team (i.e., omnichannel strategies, modular content creation, agile rituals, collaboration with agencies)
  • Owns holistic brand strategy & imperatives across key stakeholders
  • Brand Lead will execute Brand Team objective setting process for all team members, including functional team members to ensure a cross-functional alignment of annual objectives.

  • Able to deliver against commercial and broader performance objectives
  • Familiarity with range of customer journeys (HCP, Patient, Payor)
  • Relevant management background in leading Commercial, Access, or Medical functions
  • P&L/ budget management experience
  • Fluency in analytical models (e.g., journey decisioning engine) and ability to translate analytics from I&A teams into actionable strategies
  • Experience of omnichannel strategy and modular content production
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and requirements of the customer
  • 10 + years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant experience within the Immunology therapeutic area
  • Experience in launching and resourcing Immunology brands
  • A solid understanding of the industry's complex regulatory and reimbursement requirements and an absolute committment to competing on the highest ethical level are essential
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK and Ireland market, NHS & HSE structure and customer needs and ability to identify opportunities and issues within the changing NHS & HSE
