An exciting opportunity has become available within Alder Hey's Digital Service - iDigital. We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Associate Director to spearhead our Digital Transformation, Data and Analytics services.
The post holder will, under the direction of the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer, be responsible for all service activities relating to the delivery of Digital Programmes, Systems, Data and Analytics. This will include the management of all staff and suppliers engaged in those activities.
They will direct the services, using a facilitative approach to improve the experience for service staff, patients and families. This role will involve some complex negotiation with senior managers at both at an operational and strategic level., This is a site-specific role (Alder Hey) working as part of iDigital shared service, and the post holder will be responsible for:
+ the development of strategy and the delivery of all aspects of Digital Programmes, Training, Digital Systems, Data and Analytics, ensuring strong alignment with Trust 2030 Vision Strategy.
+ providing day to day senior leadership for each of the Service Areas, ensuring they function effectively and continuously deliver against the Trust Strategic objectives.
+ Budget holder for the associated service areas, complying with Trust Standard Financial Instructions and delivering cost efficiencies where appropriate.
+ Be a key part of the wider trust Digital leadership to deliver the wider digital objectives in an efficient, effective and safe manner in pursuit of excellence in Health & Social care.
+ Demonstrate excellent communications at all levels, both within and external to the NHS and be able to demonstrate good people management skills in order to manage and direct the support teams under his/her control.
+ Available to participate in the senior leadership on call rota, be the key contact in place for escalation of significant IT issues affecting clinical services. The postholder must be able to make organisation wide decisions relating to emerging emergency situations without reference to senior colleagues as the postholder is the subject matter expert., + To be responsible for directing and strategic planning of the workstreams that comprise Digital and Trust 2030 Strategy
+ Prepare strategic reports and briefings for Trust Board, Trust Directors and stakeholders inc NHS England and NHS Digital
+ Strategic planning and delivery of data, analytics, clinical systems programmes and projects across the Trust to benefit patient care, quality and productivity.
+ Develop and maintain highly effective communication and good working relationships and engagement with executives, other departments, divisions and clinicians, third party suppliers and external bodies.
+ Cultivate a reputation for high quality services.
+ Provide knowledge and skill to fulfil day to day leadership responsibilities for the Business Intelligence, Information services, Clinical Coding and Data Quality.
+ Communicate ideas and highly complex concepts/issues clearly, via presentations and during meetings, to all levels of staff, and where there are barriers to understanding, in order to achieve positive outcomes.
+ Utilise service data to maintain, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators to the relevant groups and committees.
+ Coordination of the available budget for each workstream within the service areas to the appropriate staff resources and projects and for ensuring that the budget breaks even. Co-ordinate the budget, monitoring expenditure against target areas
+ For the services within the post holder's remit, deal with recruitment, appraisal, grievance and disciplinary issues that may require the frequent management of challenging, difficult or emotive situations in some cases.
