Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and experienced leader who can bring energy and focus to the Associate Director of Elective Recovery role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of NUH's elective recovery programme alongside leading the Surgery & Cancer Division, as part of the Divisional Triumvirate, ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services., The Associate Director of Elective Recovery (ADoER) is responsible for the development and delivery of NUH's elective recovery programme alongside ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services within the Division that are clinically sound, delivered cost effectively and meet the Trust's priorities and performance targets.

· NUH has been designated the Barts ambulatory surgical hub for general surgery and gynaecology, alongside the Barts HVLC hub for orthopaedics;

· NUH has recently opened a new and expanded critical care;

· NUH is looking to secure funding to refurbish two mothballed theatres on the Main Site - expanding the ambulatory elective centre on the main site to four theatres, and fully utilising the newly opened day-case unit; and

· NUH is at the heart of a Barts Health surgical strategy implementation - looking to build a centre of excellence in ambulatory surgery at NUH.
