The Associate Director of Flow and Bed Optimisation will be the lead role responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of a bed flow team. You will be expected to take forward a programme of work to ensure that mental health beds are allocated effectively and people are discharged safety and quickly - ensuring good bed flow. You will be expected to ensure that people can access beds locally and minimise the use of beds outside of Surrey. You will support our work as we build new hospitals - and will work alongside other hospital providers - ensuring that the patient experience is of a high quality foe every bed that we use.

You will have oversight of a team, and will be directly managing some team members as well as working with a wide range of hospital and community teams to implement new ways of working. Therefore, you will be a fantastic communicator and able to influence and motivate people., The role will be a lead role responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of a bed flow team.

The role will lead on the development and implementation of streamlined processes to provide insight on demand and capacity to enable close monitoring to ensure that service users are accessing the right care, at the right time and in the right place in line with nationally and locally defined targets. This role will lead work with key stakeholders across the Trust (and with partner Agencies) to develop and implement streamlined processes to monitor, report and track patients throughout their pathway, identifying and addressing potential breaches where possible and escalating them where appropriate. It will ensure that data is validated throughout the patient journey and inputted into local systems. It will take the lead on co-ordinating across the Trust, both national and local access targets - particular with regard to OAPS reduction. This role will ensure that any developed processes are embedded within operational teams - guiding, leading and supporting others to optimise
bed flow.
