Full Job Description
THIS IS A SECONDMENT OR FIXED TERM OPPORTUNITY - 22.5 hours per week
Work with the Director of Nursing and Divisional Medical Directors to meet the division's key performance targets, leading effective and efficient delivery operational and clinical services with particular emphasis on effective clinical care, as well as implementing the strategic, financial and operational plans and efficiently deploying the resources of the Directorate.
Lead on clinical efficiencies and service improvement programmes, thereby raising standards of practice, productivity and value for money.
As part of the directorate senior management team, the Associate Director of Nursing will alongside the Director of Nursing / AHP to support the delivery of quality governance for the Division. They will support the improvement and strengthening of quality of care (patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness) by working closely with Heads of Services and local governance leads. A key part of the role will include ensuring the delivery of CQC standards across the division and to work with the Director of Nursing / AHP, Director of Operations and Medical Director to move all our services in the Division to a continuously improving CQC rating., Please see the attached supporting document which contains more information about the Associate Director of Nursing - Cancer and Clinical Services role at Epsom and St Helier.
Person specification
+ Registered Nurse / Midwife.
+ Evidence of significant professional and managerial development
+ 1st level degree or equivalent
+ Recognised teaching and assessing certificate.
Experience
Essential criteria
+ Substantial experience and achievement in a senior clinical nursing role.
+ Evidence of delivering complex change involving wide engagement
+ Demonstrable experience of people management including experience of chairing capability / disciplinary hearings.
+ Experience of holding staff to account for poor performance, and previous experience of being accountable for the delivery of clinical / nursing services.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
+ Ability to demonstrate expert clinical and nursing knowledge.
+ Ability to effectively manage resources to deliver sustained improvement
+ Significant budgetary experience and demonstrable experience of achieving financial savings without compromising clinical care.
