Full Job Description

Working with the Audible Studio production team, the Associate Director, Production will be instrumental in driving forward innovative, inspiring and experiential audiobook projects. You will help define and shape how creative production can better meet the demands of our business and the listening experience of our customers. You will champion D&I within production and ensure representation is considered and present across all aspects of production - not just the most visible positions. Prioritising customer experience, you must have a passion and enthusiasm to continually push inspiring productions within Audible to deliver best in class content. The role also requires a respected production expert who can support systems and processes that enable and underpin this function, and in particular how it interconnects with other departments and teams. ABOUT THE TEAM The Associate Director, Production sits within the Audible UK Production Team and within the wider EU Production and Content team. The Audible UK Production team produces unique and diverse content, ranging from single-voice audiobooks, through to highly complex, A-list talent lead full cast drama productions. We are a highly creative team who use data and creative relationships to bring true meaning to 'premium content'. Projects are briefed in to the Production team who then develop the creative approach, and deliver against the objectives and ambitions originally agreed at commissioning - through high quality production techniques, ambitious and broad casting, and an efficient and cost-effective production model.   • Take the creative lead on ambitious audiobook projects
  • Proactively identify project requirements and take ownership of developing clear plans for inspiring audiobook productions
  • Continue to help drive projects forward and ensure milestones and timelines are met
  • Own and drive audiobook production schedules to ensure all productions are delivered and published within business-critical timelines, and to the highest standards
  • Concentrate on casting and booking actors for progressive and imaginative audiobooks
  • Be a key point for audiobook production updates, coordination and process for the duration of the project
  • Manage each project end-to-end and book any on-mic and off-mic talent, or third-party producers
  • Work with and develop a wide pool of freelance producers, agents, directors, talent and production companies we may partner with
  • Ensure any talent and crew are given a first-class experience while working on any of our projects and/or in our studios
  • Be responsible for ensuring audiobook production runs smoothly, collating scripts, contracts and payment info and problem solving when necessary
  • Work closely with internal teams (finance, production, legal, merchandising, marketing etc.) on production queries, promotional activities and utilisation of our in-house production resources
  • Ensure representation is considered within Post at our London Hub and feed in to Spectrum and Belonging initiatives to ensure we are creating pathways to engagement on our projects for those from underrepresented communities
  • Lead on problem-solving by identifying issues and risks before they arise, directing focus on ensuring improvements are made, initiating changes, and developing processes to support our continued success.

    Experience as a Production Manager in audio production
  • Experience in managing or coordinating multiple simultaneous projects, ideally in audio production
  • Demonstrable experience in casting in a creative media environment, preferably including casting for voice
  • Experience of managing content production processes., A passion for the spoken word medium
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Dedicated team player who works collaboratively and supportively
  • Strong logistical, organisational and time-management skills
  • Able to work independently, proactively and meet deadlines.
