Full Job Description

This Associate Director role will support Global Procurement Research categories providing procurement category management and business partner support for the Research & Non Clinical (RNCD) functions and other associated functions as may be required. The role will report to the Senior Director, Global Procurement and be expected to act objectively in the interests of the Procurement organization and more broadly of Jazz, whilst partnering effectively with the business. The individual will be expected to partner closely with the RNCD team and supporting functions such as Quality & Legal and to have a good understanding of business specific issues and priorities to enable them to deliver on their objectives. Good communication skills, a broad knowledge of procurement, and the ability to influence outside of procurement and finance. The key categories this individual will support are Research Pharmacology, DMPK/Bioanalysis, Toxicology & Medicinal Chemistry. The role will require some travel to Jazz offices, supplier sites and other meetings locations as necessary.,

  • In partnership with the business accountable for developing & executing category strategies to deliver sustainable results in support of Jazz's procurement and business objectives.
  • Ability to consolidate market, Vendor and internal Business data and information to develop and implement a cohesive, business-aligned long-term category strategy.
  • Subject matter expert (knowledge of industry, major players, threats, opportunities, terms etc.)
  • Manage the end-to-end competitive sourcing process (i.e. specifications, statements of work, performance terms, and/or acceptance criteria); Manage an efficient Vendor selection process driving the team towards a timely decision.
  • Establish effective relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Negotiate master agreements as well as other associated contracts (SOWs, Change Orders, etc.)
  • Identify value add opportunities to leverage spend and deliver value add to the business though, savings, cost avoidance and supplier innovation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
  • Implement SRM Program, in line with Global Procurement's vision, to advance the partnership between Jazz and its suppliers. Developing the governance model, conducting vendor segmentation, gaining buy-in from the business owners, developing key performance indicators and implementing the infrastructure to support ongoing efforts.
  • Procurement Excellence, Policy, Procedures and Processes
  • Assist in deploying and maintaining the Company wide Procurement Policy, Procedures and Processes within stakeholder groups for assigned categories.
  • Leverage and maintain Procurement's systems (such as spend analytics and S2P platform) as part of Procurement's Digitalization Strategy.
  • As required, lead or support Excellence workstreams to develop Procurement processes.

    Minimum 7 years relevant Procurement/Category Management experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Experience with & knowledge of Research procurement categories.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively tailor communication to varying levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commercially astute with experience in contract negotiation.
  • Proven track record of embedding procurement within a business function
  • Proven track record of delivering procurement value add through savings, avoidance and other value add., Bachelor's degree in business, science or a related field
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP & Coupa experience an advantage.
