The Business Tax practice at Deloitte is offering an exciting opportunity to join our national tax reporting and audit of tax team, based throughout the UK. The team consists of a group of tax reporting specialists who work with wide range of businesses including UK and foreign listed, private equity backed and family owed companies. You can expect to work across a variety of industry sectors, including nationally and internationally known businesses across all key sectors of the economy. As the tax landscape is undergoing significant change; with changes to tax legislation, increased media focus and scrutiny, technology advancements, and the increasingly global reach of clients, the challenges faced by companies in the reporting and communication of tax risks and outcomes is becoming ever more complex. We work closely with colleagues across core audit, accounting advisory and valuations, and alongside tax subject matter experts such as transfer pricing, treasury and innovation incentives. This enables us to provide a comprehensive audit of tax and end-to-end tax reporting service. We support our clients with the reporting of tax across all aspects of their business life cycle, including close involvement with corporate transactions, outsourcing of tax reporting, process improvement and delivery of assurance through high quality tax audits tailored to our clients' particular tax risks. This scope and range of businesses, and the intersection between tax, accounting and advisory services provides an exciting opportunity. The role will be varied and will range from complex tax audits of listed and private businesses, to multinational group reporting work, to supporting private equity backed businesses to account for tax on transactions. The different projects that you will be managing will ensure that you are challenged on a daily basis. You will also get to work with a great national team who are driven and ambitious, and meet and interact with prestigious client organisations., You will manage key elements of a client relationship and will be expected to support Partners and Directors in developing existing relationships together with assisting with proposals for new clients.,

  • Tax audit & reporting specialist
  • Provide deep tax accounting and tax technical expertise on a wide variety of issues across a range of sectors;
  • Lead the relationship with main Deloitte audit team, and deal with the most complex tax and tax accounting technical matters on audit engagements;
  • Working with colleagues across service lines to plan and manage delivery of tax reporting advisory and outsource work to a broad range of clients, complementing your tax audit work;
  • Be the main point of contact for the client's tax and finance team on tax reporting matters;
  • Manage a team of tax and tax reporting specialists, including overseas teams, to deliver complex audit of tax and tax reporting engagements.

  • Input into the wider Deloitte agenda on excellence in tax audit and tax accounting;
  • Contribute to the leadership and development of the national tax reporting and audit of tax team.

    You will be a confident team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise with others, as well as continuing to build your own technical expertise or specialism., Experience of tax audit work in a big 4 environment or similar (people from reporting roles in industry will be considered);
  • ICAEW, CTA or equivalent qualifications;
  • Experience in preparing or reviewing reporting schedules and tax accounting disclosures under IFRS, FRS102 and US GAAP;
  • Ability to integrate and work effectively within high performing teams;
  • Delegation and leadership skills, and an ability to be clear and concise with regards to instructing more junior teams around them;
  • High quality business writing and effective communication skills;
  • The ability to work closely with audit teams and clients, applying practical and commercial concepts to technical work;
  • Ability to effectively present to clients and internal teams;
  • Individual needs to be organised and self-motivated.
