Full Job Description

The post holder will support Medway NHS Foundation Trust Clinical Education Team in the development opportunities for healthcare support workers. These opportunities will contribute to the provision of a workforce that is kind, collaborative, expert and aspirational.
The post holder will help to champion and facilitate the development of Clinical Support Workers (CSW) who are new to the trust and to the care environment.
The post holder will support the Clinical Education Team in designing and coordinating the delivery of the Care Certificate and other clinical educational programmes to support service situated learning opportunities linked to the requirement of the CSW role., · To support the co-ordination, facilitation and delivery of the Care Certificate induction programme for CSW's or other non-qualified roles
· To support the Clinical Education Team with maintaining central registers of all candidates enrolled on the Care Certificate programme.
· To ensure candidates progress from enrolment, progression and completion of the programme is monitored and any delays investigated and actioned.
· To assist in ensuring the provision of named supervisor/assessor support for candidates registered on the Care Certificate programme.
· To collaborate with the Clinical Education Team to promote and support the delivery of a range of generic and bespoke learning activities for new and existing CSWs

To signpost staff to the appropriate information, advice and guidance relating to the learning opportunities provided for CSW's within the trust.
Be highly visible in the clinical area working alongside CSW's in the ward areas for 80% of their time.
· Provide support, guidance, mentorship, and coaching to individual CSW's who maybe undergoing a performance review due to capability concerns.
· To support CSW learners in overcoming barriers to learning and provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.
· Support the Clinical Education Team in evaluating the effectiveness of learning activities and support redesign programmes to meet the organisational needs.
· Ensure effective communication between the ward managers/matrons and external contributors to facilitate effective learning.
· Provide support to ward teams in identifying areas of learning for the CSW
· Contribute towards the improvement of the patients' experience
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
· Undertake continuous training and development required for the role.
· Support the Clinical Education Team in researching, designing and delivering a variety of generic and bespoke learning activities for staff; developing schemes of work, lessons plans and training resources
· Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of e-learning solutions
· To be responsible for own allocated caseload in supporting CSW's on the Care Certificate programmes within in a specified timeframe and escalating issues to the Clinical Practice Development Lead who oversees the Care Certificate programme
· Work clinically to maintain own knowledge, skills and clinical credibility
· To work within agreed policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulations and the code of practice for the registered organisation.
· Prioritise duties with the support of the Clinical Practice Development Lead.
· Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision, but within their level of competence.

· To participate in own appraisal process and identify own role specific training needs and work in accordance with individual departmental and corporate objectives.
· Attend all Mandatory training as specific by the Trust
· Ensure that knowledge and skills are updated to maintain safe standards of care and treatment for patients
