Full Job Description
We are recruiting a Fast Track/Mulit Track Junior Associate to join the Employers Liability/Public Liability team in Manchester. The successful candidate will work in a team dedicated to dealing with a number of the UK's largest insurer clients and will report directly to the Team Leader in respect of day-to-day tasks. The team currently enjoys hybrid working, being in the office 50% of the time., Managing a caseload of litigated Fast Track and Multi-Track Employers Liability and Public Liability - Drafting of Court documents within the Civil Procedure - Instruction of Counsel and experts where appropriate - Assessing liability and quantum and preparing reports/advice - Making and responding to offers and negotiating settlement of both liability and quantum as and when necessary
Previous experience within personal injury litigation (Defendant or Claimant) - A high level of accuracy and attention to detail - Excellent Organisational Skills - The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast- paced environment - A professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally - Assertive and confident with a "can do" attitude to work - Willingness to learn and develop skills/knowledge, Technical legal expertise: the knowledge of the law and ability to apply it Research: the ability to conduct research effectively and apply it commercially Managing legal processes: the ability to ensure all legal processes are followed efficiently and effectively People and Team Guiding individual performance and development: develops the skills of self and others Teamwork and collaboration: working cooperatively and effectively with others Leadership: creating high performing teams Client Relationships and Business Development Building business relationships: establishing, maintaining and using relationships to create and develop business opportunities Commercial thinking: understanding the commercial drivers Cross-selling and business development Finance and Practice Management Finance management and understanding of the business Project management: ensuring projects are delivered Knowledge sharing Personal Effectiveness Communication Clarity of thinking
