Introduction to the role:
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to join an ambitious team to develop their own practice and skills and be intrinsic to the further growth and development of the team over the coming years.
The role will involve a combination of:

  • supporting senior lawyers on complex matrimonial cases;

  • end-to-end responsibility for their own case-load of matrimonial and private children law cases;

  • accompanying Counsel to court on difficult family cases and on more straightforward matters conducting own advocacy;

  • engaging in business development activity across the Northwest and Nationally to assist in further growing the team


  • The successful candidate will develop their own relationships to become a trusted advisor to the team's clients and regular referrers of work.
    Introduction to the team:
    Joanne Raisbeck leads the bespoke Team at Hill Dickinson, who work as part of a wider Commercial Litigation team. The Family team itself is comprised of two partner's, 2 Legal Directors, 1 Senior Associate and 2 Associate's currently.
    The Team has a reputation for excellence and act for some of the region's most HNW and high profile individuals from the world of business, media and sport. They offer both a national and international service from the Firm's worldwide offices.
    The Team primarily undertake complex and HNW Divorce and Financial Remedy work, along with Nuptial Agreements and Private Children Law matters.
    The Team are members of Resolution and are ranked Band 1 in Chambers and Partners in the Liverpool area and ranked by Legal 500 in Band 2 across the Northwest.,
  • Client liaison and client care

  • Business development

  • Drafting documentation

  • Instructing Counsel and experts

  • Negotiating with the other side

  • Attending court

  • Advocacy

  • Co-working with the partner in the team on complex financial matters, as well as running your own caseload (both matrimonial and private children work)

    Previous experience of managing a caseload of matrimonial and private children work

  • Experience in divorce, financial remedy applications and private children act matters is essential

  • Awareness of current topical issues/commercial acumen

  • Advocacy
