Full Job Description

The Global Banks, Group & Specialist Finance team provide critical relationship coverage for Banks across the world as well as to our own Group Subsidiaries. The Banks team has a geographical coverage model broadly across EMEA, APAC, UK and North America. Our critical Banking relationships cover a full suite of products across Transaction Banking services, Liquidity, Repo, FX, Structured Solutions and DCM. As an Associate in the North American Banks team, you have responsibility for contributing to the growth and maintenance of a portfolio of our US and Canadian Bank clients, working directly with both the London and NY NA Banks team. Growth in your role will also include ownership of a portfolio of clients after you establish familiarity and comfort with the overall group. As well as helping to drive growth of revenue, your role is to originate new business, manage and support senior partner meetings and ensure the team is maximising client relationship value to deepen the wallet across the portfolio. By acting as a key support resource for our client base and growing your own client and partner relationships, this role will help drive client revenue whilst ensuring the effective management of risk. You play a lead role in developing LBG's profile in the market to attract new business and enhance relationships with existing clients. This is a great opportunity for a driven and hardworking individual to join a fast growing and diverse client facing team. What you'll be doing:

  • Client Relationship Management: Support the team to manage all of our client relationships and grow individually into a coverage role with a set of NA clients. Contribute to the team strategy to optimise income generation and business objectives, in particular balancing income and risk.
  • Manage & Build the business: Help to create, develop and originate business leads to maximise business opportunities and growth for The Group.
  • Teamwork & Influence: A team oriented and self starting individual is necessary. Candidate must be willing and able to take the broader view for the benefit of the wider CIB and team franchise, using influence to achieve efficient outcomes for the team and our clients.
  • Stakeholder Management: Promote the team franchise with internal and external partners, collaborating closely with product and delivery to maximise impact and opportunities.
  • Develop Propositions: Assist with the preparation and presenting of responses to Requests for Proposal, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Risk Management: Oversee key credit, operational, and other risks within the portfolio, including specific transactions and the preparation of proposals for credit limit approval or renewal. Identify, assess, monitor, control, and mitigate risks. Understand the primary risks facing the business and the individual's role in mitigating them., Product knowledge - Knowledge of the key product suite that Lloyds can offer both from Lloyds Bank and Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets - Transaction Banking services, Deposits, Repo, FX, Structured Solutions and DCM. Associate will be expected to develop knowledge of areas lacking as much of this comes with experience.
  • Regulatory - Understanding of regulatory framework/requirements within which the business operates (FCA and wider regulatory framework including EU and international, as well as legal framework).
  • Financial analysis and controls - The ability to interpret financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • Communication & Cultural Awareness - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across different audiences and cultural environments.
