Full Job Description

The role of the Nursing Associate/Associate practitioner is to work collaboratively with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care and education in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians The post holder will provide support to the other members of the Infection Prevention and Control Team in monitoring compliance with infection prevention and control principles, including audit and surveillance, data collection, input and analysis and coaching and support to all levels of staff in the clinical areas. Support the Trusts Audit and Surveillance nurse The Nursing Associate/Assistant practitioner works independently under the leadership of registered nurses The post holder will act professionally at all times and use their knowledge and experience to make evidence based decisions They recognise and work within the limits of their competencies and are responsible and accountable for their actions
They will be expected to actively contribute to quality assurance processes and service development. Provide education to members of the multidisciplinary team Partake in quality improvement projects Review patients with known infections i.e. MRSA positive / risk, accurately document in the patients notes and provide advise to staff providing care Promote good practice and be able to challenge behaviours that go against Trust Policy Escalate concerns to senior staff Computer literate competent in the use of excel, word and powerpoint Perform audits and collate data collected
