Full Job Description
We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Associate Practitioner to work under the supervision of a Specialist Occupational Therapist and provide interventions on the in-patient unit and in the community. The post would be suitable for a confident and enthusiastic Band 4 (or an experienced Band 3 who is ready to progress), to join our acute learning disability in-patient service. The team at Townend Court is multidisciplinary and includes Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry and Speech and Language Therapy.
The successful applicant will support the Occupational Therapist and wider team in carrying out assessments and effective interventionsfor a complex client group with a variety of sensory, physical, cognitive, social and environmental needs. You will be expected to work autonomously and carry out treatment plans agreed with the Occupational Therapist. This will include delivering a wide range of individual and group activities to meet identified aims. There will be the opportunity to take part in training and regular supervision., The successful applicant will support the Occupational Therapist and wider team in carrying out assessments and interventions with clients. Interventions may include daily living skills training, community skills such as shopping and social activities and engagement in meaningful activities.
