Full Job Description

A fantastic role has arisen for an Associate Structural Engineer that requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills and leadership ability. You will assist with leading a team of competent structural engineers and technicians to deliver projects within an agreed budget, timescale and to a high quality. This includes delivering your own projects, communicating with clients, stakeholders and external teams as necessary to ensure the brief is adhered to in the delivery of the projects whilst maintaining a positive client relationship. An important aspect of this role is to act as mentor to junior members, providing advice and guidance utilising previous project knowledge.

  • Degree level qualification in Engineering (Civil or Structural Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Membership of relevant professional engineering institution - ideally IStructE, ICE, CEng or similar.
  • Proven track record as a successful Senior Structural Engineer, Principal Structural Engineer and/or Associate Structural Engineer with a Engineering Consultancy.
  • Experience of building design and structures across a range of sectors, ideally education, retail and commercial, healthcare, residential, leisure, logistics and manufacturing.
  • Competent in steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber structures.
  • Ability to use computer design software packages including Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, Revit, AutoCAD and other relevant 3D software.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills with a commercial mindset.
