Full Job Description

  • The candidate should have experience of transaction management, financial acumen, ideally a background in investment banking or a corporate finance environment.

  • The role will be based in the UK Living Capital Markets team with a principle focus on the UK PBSA sector. There will be the opportunity to grow the role into wide living sectors and support our European team on portfolio / platform transactions.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to evaluate potential investment opportunities in the student housing market. This includes performing financial modelling, conducting due diligence, and analysing market trends to support investment strategies. A significant emphasis will be placed on the candidate's ability to perform financial modelling and analysis of opportunities.

  • Sales and Acquisitions: Assist in the execution of sales and acquisition transactions within the student housing sector. Collaborate with senior team members to prepare marketing materials, conduct property appraisals and run closing processes.

  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate investment analysis, market research findings, and investment recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. This will include playing an key role in preparation of pitch decks and materials for new business opportunities

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within JLL to leverage expertise and resources for successful project execution. Engage with senior team members to enhance professional development and contribute to the growth of the Student Housing team.

    RICS or CFA certification is beneficial but not a necessity, but the candidate will need to demonstrate their credentials within a similar role / job description

  • Previous experience in the Living space is favourable but not a necessity

  • Strong team ethos with excellent communication skills and ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to review operational financial performance and financial statements.

  • Confidence to present logical and reasoned arguments to support your underwriting but the ability to work within a team environment.

  • Effective project management skills, working to tight timelines and prioritising tasks to ensure timely reporting to our clients.

  • Enthusiasm, with a strong sense of commitment to a career in a growing/dynamic/fast-paced part of the business.
