Full Job Description

Working within our Sustainability and Climate Change Team, and alongside our Planning Team, you will act as a consultee to the planning process to ensure applications are in compliance with national and local policy such as the Council's Sustainability Supplementary Planning Document subject to approval by Cabinet.

You will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing carbon and energy life cycle assessments of proposed developments ensuring compliance with the Council's Sustainability Supplementary Planning Document.

  • Providing clear and expert advice and recommendations regarding carbon emissions and energy usage to planning officers, developers, and other stakeholders during the planning process.

    Sound knowledge of either energy and carbon and/or the UK Planning system. Experience of energy management programmes in a local authority context is beneficial.

  • Experience of reviewing and influencing planning documents including plans relating to sustainability.

  • A team player, highly organised, motivated and excellent communication skills.

    This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £36,433 - £40,401 per annum., Contributory pension scheme and an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) scheme to enhance your pension provision
