Full Job Description

To assist in the development and implementation of the Regional Engineering assurance and audit programme that assures compliance to governance and legislation. To manage Functional Audit Programme and assurance activities through preparation, perform, report and follow-up stages.

To undertake audit and assurance activities and report on activity status, non-conformance, corrective action plans, assurance findings, learning, risk and opportunity.

To assist in delivering the overall assurance portfolio managed by the Regional Engineering Assurance Manager, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the development of change and improvement action plans.

To deliver transparent and accessible assurance findings with quality data, products and outcomes that directly influence business learning, change and improvement.

It is essential that you have:

· Attained or working towards an ISO9001 Internal QMS Auditor qualification.

It is desirable that you have:

· Attained or working towards an ISO9001 QMS Lead Auditor qualification., Your Main Responsibilities will be to:

1. Lead the implementation of new processes and systems to achieve consistent application across the Regional Engineering Assurance team.

2. Undertake assurance activities (audit, review and end product checks) to verify compliance with the defined systems, processes and assurance framework.

3. Undertake detailed sampling of deliverables to verify compliance with Network Rail company standards, technical specifications and the requirements of the quality management system.

4. Manage compliance with requirements for work definition, specification and design including the identification of non-compliances.

5. Analyse information to identify problem areas for management action.

6. Identify and report to Senior Assurance Engineer any resource or competency issues that need to be managed (by others) to improve the levels of compliance.

7. Lead and support the implementation of improvement plans and other initiatives including the promotion of good practice.

8. Coach and mentor others on the application of processes, systems, assurance and the quality requirements for the end product.

9. Support the accurate and timely reporting of information that supports Key performance indicators., Diversity and inclusion are more than just buzz words for us. · Relevant successful experience in the construction industry, and in a relevant railway engineering discipline

· HNC or equivalent qualification in construction or a relevant engineering discipline

· Working knowledge of Common Safety Method (CSM) and Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulation requirements.

· Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills

· Proven experience of governance and assurance frameworks

· Proven experience of audit management and delivery

· Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
